Dr. Shneker and his staff have ALWAYS been gracious and welcoming. I've had to request same-day appointments several times when some major pain has hit me suddenly, or a UTI, they've always fit me in. If it's minor or routine, the waiting time for an appointment is, usually, only a few days.
I usually go to the W.W.White location as it's a mile from my house, though I've been sent to the Southcross location a couple times when the schedule is packed.
Yesterday (Friday), I was in extreme pain because of my shoulder, and, as I didn't know if it was a simple muscle-tear, or a bacterial infection connected to bursitis, I called (around 10 a.m.) to request a possible appointment, after 1:30. I was told I could go in as a 'walk-in' (at W.W.White).
I could have been there until closing (as they had others with appointments ahead of me), and that would have been just fine...but they were able to get me in a room within a few minutes, and I got seen about an hour after arriving. I was thoroughly checked over, blood was drawn, X-rays ordered, and I was on my way to get X-rays and prescriptions soon after.
Dr. Shneker has many doctors-in-training, as well as Physician's Assistants, attending to patients, and all are knowledgeable, personable, and efficient. I'm ever so grateful he took the practice over when Dr. Woods retired. He's much more professional in his handling of matters and all things medically-related, as well as staff-attitude.
Dr. Shneker has had his system in place long before 'Oak Street Health' began touting their 'oh-so-original' walk-in appointments, older-patient-care, etc. I'm sure they are great, but Dr. S. has been 'old-school' (as were my doctors when I was younger) for a long time. Slowing down and paying attention to the patient isn't new...it's just been bypassed for many years by corporate medicine. Thank you Dr. S.
